Riding in the Hydrocut can become a routine that creates a familiarity and a false sense that it’s been like that for a long time. A surfacing of an old map is an excellent reminder of the long way the trails have come in just over a decade. Compare this old map to the current one and you will see the massive transformation since the humble beginnings. This might help in developing a greater appreciation of what we have and a stronger resolve to protect it.
The map lacks many trails that have been built since that time, but it also reveals a multitude of rogue trails that have been closed, in an effort to replace the initial maze-like confusion with a nice, simple, elegant, flowy single-track trail system and an intuitive, easy to follow connectivity.
